Victory Fighting Championship Signs Josh Neer to Multi-Fight contract

Victory Fighting Championship Signs Josh Neer

Midwest's premier MMA event connects with the Dentist for Multi-Fight contract

OMAHA, Neb., May 30th, 2013 – Victory Fighting Championship (VFC) welterweights now have an appointment with “The Dentist” as Josh Neer (33-13) has signed a two fight deal with the region’s top promotion and will be bringing his crowd pleasing style back to the VFC’s squared cage and the Midwest fans who’ve watched him grow.

Neer, a 14 time UFC veteran, has long been known as a fighter’s fighter and perhaps no bout demonstrated that more than the absolute battle he had with Spencer Fisher (24-9) back at VFC 7, in 2004.  That legendary brawl is still talked about on MMA forums and message boards to this day and remains one of the greatest fights in VFC history.

Now fighting out of the Des Moines Mixed Martial Arts Academy, the longtime Miletich Fighting System pillar is a fan favorite who has faced a who’s who of top level opponents and owns notable victories over fighters such as Duane Ludwig, Din Thomas, Mac Danzig, and Melvin Guillard. While only 30 years old, the experienced Neer has more stoppage victories (29) than most mixed martial artists have fights, let alone wins.

Josh Neer is scheduled to make his return at VFC 41 on December 14th inside the Ralston Arena, the premier mixed martial arts venue of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area. “I am looking forward to fighting for Victory and getting back in the cage. They are doing big things and I’m happy to be fighting for them” Neer shared about signing with the Midwests Premier MMA Promotion.

In December 2012, Victory’s debut at the new Ralston Arena set the venue’s attendance record and even outsold the UFC®'s event in Omaha earlier in the year.  VFC shattered their own attendance record with another sell-out of the Ralston Arena at VFC 39 in March and looks to do the same July 27th at VFC 40.

Victory recently announced KPTM Fox 42 as its new and exclusive broadcast partner.
